The film is a raw, immersive exploration of primary school life, told entirely from the perspective of a seven-year-old girl named Nora.

On her first day of school, Nora witnesses her older brother, Abel, being bullied by other children. Caught between the urge to protect him and her brother's demand for silence to avoid further humiliation, Nora must navigate a social landscape governed by "playground laws" where adults often fail to intervene effectively.

Director Laura Wandel and cinematographer Frédéric Noirhomme keep the camera at the eye level of the children, making adults appear as looming, often faceless figures. This creates a claustrophobic and visceral experience of the school environment.
