Štih graduated from the University of Ljubljana in 1983 and earned his PhD in 1993 under the supervision of Bogo Grafenauer. His career has been marked by deep international engagement, including a formative period at the Institute for Austrian Historical Research in Vienna. Currently a full professor at the University of Ljubljana, he teaches medieval history of the Slovene Lands and the Balkans. Major Research Themes
