As she entered her teenage years, St. Ives began to focus more seriously on her soccer career. She attended St. John's College in Newfoundland, where she played for the college's women's soccer team. Her impressive performances earned her a scholarship to play for the University of Newfoundland's women's soccer team.

In 2015, St. Ives signed with the New York City FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Although she didn't make an appearance for the team, her signing marked an important milestone in her professional career.
