It was the peak of the wedding season in Baku. Kamil and Ilqar had just finished performing at a massive "toy" (wedding), an exhausting but exhilarating affair that lasted well into the early morning hours. Instead of heading home to sleep, the duo, still buzzing from the adrenaline of the crowd and the rhythmic pulse of the nagara drums, headed straight to a small, smoke-filled studio.

True to the meykhana tradition, much of the track was born from "deyişmə" (poetic sparring). They sat across from each other, throwing lines back and forth, mocking the absurdities of life and the social scenes they just witnessed at the wedding.

In Azerbaijani slang, "duzlu" (salty) refers to something witty, sharp, or having a certain "kick." They wanted to create a "fresh" topic that wasn't the usual romantic cliché but something that felt like a real conversation between friends.

Because they recorded it immediately after the event, their voices carried the natural rasp of a night spent singing. This gave the track an authentic, "street" feel that resonated with listeners across the country.
