Truman Burbank (Jim Carrey) lives a seemingly perfect life in the idyllic town of Seahaven. However, he is unaware of a massive secret: his entire life is a 24-hour reality television show broadcast to the entire world. Every person in his life—including his mother, his best friend, and even his wife—is a paid actor. The "town" is actually a giant dome controlled by a visionary producer named Christof (Ed Harris). As Truman begins to notice glitches in his reality, he must decide whether to stay in his safe, fabricated world or risk everything to discover the truth.
