The glow of the smartphone screen was the only light in Min-ho’s cramped apartment. On the screen, his pixelated avatar stood dejectedly in a virtual office, surrounded by the harsh red text:
"Enough," Min-ho muttered. He wanted the top floor. He wanted the CEO chair.
Min-ho looked at his dark apartment, realizing that in his rush to win a game about career struggle, he’d lost the only currency that actually mattered.
The change was instant. His avatar wasn't a lowly intern anymore; he was wearing a golden suit. Every time he clicked a task, his bank account surged by millions. The bosses didn't fire him; they bowed as he walked past. Within ten minutes, he was the Chairman.
A new dialogue box appeared, one he had never seen in the official version. It wasn't from the boss. It was a silhouette of a hooded figure. “You didn't earn this seat,” the text scrolled slowly.
